La Selva Jungle Eco Lodge is reflective of native design: rustic, authentic and comfortable. Our jungle lodge can be described as private bungalows that are cozy and immaculately clean.
The bungalows at La Selva Jungle Eco Lodge are entirely made of secondary, rainforest materials and are designed to blend with Ecuador's Jungle.
FEATURES
- Each bungalow has a private bathroom, a hammock and a mosquito net for each bed.
- You will be pleasantly surprised by the unexpected amenities such as, hot water showers and electricity. As well, everything at the lodge is sanitary beyond your wildest expectations.
- La Selva is comprised of 17 thatched-roofed bungalows with many different sleeping configurations, a spacious but cozy bar with a wrap-around view of our gorgeous lake, and a grand dining room, with a cone-shaped gigantic, thatched roof.
- You can sneak a siesta (Spanish for nap) in the hammock hut, or just spend some time relaxing on your own private hammock, reviewing the day's photos from your digital camera.
Activities
- This Amazon ecotourism pearl has plenty of options for your activities for the day and night (imagine what is to be walking in an Amazon rainforest lodge in the dark).
- We generally accept no more than 40 guests and divide them into groups of 8 per guide.
- This amazing Amazon rainforest lodge has easy and challenging trails close to our eco lodge which is usually filled with wildlife
- Swiming at the Garzacocha Lake is another option.
- This is the most inexpensive place with a full and true jungle experience with civilization at your finger tip.
EXCURSIONS AND SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Depending on what you like, you will find day adventures, night adventures, physical challenges, long walking, jungle adventures, science, eco tour, or anthropological visits.
Below you will find examples of activities that La Selva Eco Lodge offers:
- Walk by a Native's House: Cross Garzacocha Lake. This adventure takes you on a two and a half to three hour walk on a purposely, underdeveloped trail which will offer some physical challenge.
- Mandicocha Trail: You will find this trail not so physically challenging but close to the Lodge which is filled with wildlife, no matter what hour of the day you take the Mandicocha Trail expedition.
- Night Excursions: Every night, after dinner, we feature canoe or walking trips to view nocturnal animals such as caiman, monkeys, insects and owls.
- Special programs such as: The Jungle Honeymoon thrill, Amazon & Colonial City, La Selva + Quito + Otavalo, Free Birding with Mindo Extension.
