4. Hike to Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is a must-see if you’re traveling in South America. By hiking there along the famous Inca Trail you will immerse yourself in the world of the Incas by following in their footsteps. En route you’ll pass several other Inca sites and incredible scenery. The trail itself reaches up to 4200 meters above sea level and is about 42 kms long with some challenging sections.
