Ecuador and Peru
20 days In this terrific new adventure mostly in the highlands of Ecuador and Northern Peru , we focus on the amazing cultural and archeological richness. This trip takes you to regions that have only been visited by true explorers, a region unknown to travelers. We also travel to some famous destinations such as the Otavalo market, UNESCO´S World Heritage cities of Quito and Cuenca, we pass by the “Valley of the Longevity” Vilcabamba, where people live for over 100 years, we explore the fortified city of Kuelap one of the highlights of the trip that is just as impressive as Machu Picchu, then on to Cajamarca, Valley of the Pyramids, and the fascinating Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in the world. _____________________________________________________________
We begin in Quito , first city to be declared as a Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO and capital of Ecuador . North of Quito we will visit the colorful markets of Otavalo before flying to the Galapagos. Once on the islands you become Charles Darwin as you witness evolution occur right before your eyes. The animals are visitor friendly and allow you to approach them without fear. When you land on an island, you transform into the item of interest and they into observers. Afterwards, we continue to the heartland of the Inca Empire starting with Cuzco the center of their universe. We explore its secrets and surrounding treasures while traveling through the Sacred Valley , admiring indigenous markets, and other incredible ruins, we visit Machu Picchu where the presence of the Inca still rules their lost city. We sail through the spiritual waters of Lake Titicaca , and visit its inhabitants. Whether they live on reeds or isolated islands, you will be envious of their tranquil way of life. _____________________________________________________________
Ecuador is a land of contrasts, among one of the few countries in the world to be considered mega diverse. We begin in the capital city of Quito and at the colorful Otavalo market. We continue to the rainforest where wildlife and cultural wonders will amaze you. Then Cuenca will welcome us with its beautiful architecture and interesting history. Southern Ecuador
This program explores the southern most provinces crossing the three continental geographic regions of the country. Driving, hiking, biking and horse riding, we will witness the natural and cultural wonders that remain in the past in a way that seems that time hasn't gone by. _____________________________________________________________
The original Capacñan (Andean royal trail) that connected Machu Picchu with Quito , became the main horse trail for traders and travelers after the Inca's disappearance and even up to the present time. This trip takes you on horses along this trail form Cuenca south to Vilcabamba, close to the Peruvian border. Northern Peru
Northern Peru is know by very few, home to several pre inca empires, like the "Chachapoyas" who built the fortress city of Kuelap with over 400 buildings and 5 gigantic levels of walls inside of walls. We also hike to Karajia cliff burial sites and Revash, we visit the old city of Levanto and the Leimebamba museum for the mummies and artifacts from Laguna de los Condores. _____________________________________________________________
In this adventure we admire the magnificence of the Inca Empire that once ruled from Ecuador to Chile . We start in Cuzco and the sacred valley, we raft the Urubamba river and hike the Ollantaytambo ruins. Then we do the 4 days Inca trail to Machu Picchu , the Lost City of the Incas. We end this active trip at lake Titicaca, visiting the Uros in their floating reeds homes and then hiking in the Taquile island. |
