TerraDiversa presents this fabulous one day tour taking you between Quito and Cuenca. Enjoy the incredible Andean scenery while getting to you to your destination on time. There are frequent rest stops on the way to ensure a comfortable trip and to allow you to visit some of the highlights on the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Our itineraries also include a longer stop visiting a natural wonder or cultural highlight, such as a local indigenous market or a national park, depending on the day you’re traveling.
Departure is at 7am and arrival at approximately 6pm. We have scheduled departures with set itineraries for tours from Cuenca to Quito departing on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, while you can travel from Quito to Cuenca on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The exact itinerary will depend on the day and climatic variations. The tour is available for a minimum of 4 passengers. As more passengers book for particular dates we can reduce the rate per person. If you prefer a private tour, we can tailor it to suit your personal taste, timeframe and budget, as well as ensure you reach the airport on time if you’re trying to catch a plane home.

Cañar Market (Sunday: Cuenca - Quito Itinerary)
Cañar Market, in the Cañar province, takes place on Sundays. The small town comes to life on Sunday mornings for the colorful Cañar market when indigenous people from surrounding rural communities flock to the town. This is a great place to see local women sporting embroidered skirts and blouses, and to browse local produce.
Chimborazo (Tuesday: Cuenca - Quito Itinerary)
Chimborazo is the highest mountain in Ecuador, at 6310 meters, and is a currently inactive volcano. Its summit is also the farthest point on the Earth’s surface from the Earth’s center, due to the equatorial bulge. Chimborazo is 150km south of Quito. It’s summit is completely covered by glaciers. It is a popular climb which can be ascended all year around.
Cotopaxi National Park (Monday: Quito - Cuenca Itinerary)
Located about 50km south of Quito, Cotopaxi National Park is home to the Cotopaxi volcano, the dormant Rumiñawi volcano and Sincholagua volcano. Cotopaxi is amongst the highest active volcanoes in the world at 5900 meters and is clearly visible from Quito on a clear day. It has one of the few equatorial glaciers in the world and is popular with climbers.
Guamote Market (Thursday: Cuenca - Quito Itinerary)
Guamote is located 50 km south of Riobamba and is home to a fabulous highland market that takes place on Thursdays and attracts hundreds of indigenous locals from the surrounding sierra. When visiting make sure you arrive early in the morning and make your way to the chaotic animal market where locals buy and sell guinea pigs, piglets, ducks, sheep and chickens.
Latacunga Market (Friday: Quito - Cuenca Itinerary)
Latacunga is a cobblestreet colonial town surrounded by imposing mountains and throbbing with life, especially on the main market day where hundreds sell clothes, fruits and vegetables.
Pujilí Market (Wednesday: Quito - Cuenca Itinerary)
Locals flock from surrounding villages to sell their traditional crafts at Pujilí Market every Sunday and Wednesday. Here products are often more beautiful and carefully crafted than other easier to reach markets. You’ll find fresh produce from local farms, clothes, household goods and crafts.
