Our Galapagos Diving Adventure is a unique land-based group tour that combines diving excursions with land tours on both Santa Cruz Island and Isabela Island. If you’re looking for a Galapagos adventure that incorporates diving, snorkeling, hiking and kayaking, with luxury accommodation on dry land, then this is the tour for you.


If you’re a diving enthusiast looking to refresh your diving skills and get a taster of the underwater magical world of the Galapagos islands, this land-based diving adventure is perfect for you. The tour combines land-based excursions and eight dives in and around both Santa Cruz and Isabela Islands, with luxury accommodation and facilities on both islands. You must have a valid diving licence to take part.

Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival & Santa Cruz Island
Arrival and transfer to Aventura Lodge in Puerto Ayora. You’ll get to experience a variety of micro climates on the way, passing by desert in the lowlands to tropical forest in the highlands. Check-in and lunch at hotel. In the afternoon you’ll have the chance to refresh your diving skills with an afternoon pool training session at the Dive Center. Meals included: -/L/D
Day 2 - Santa Cruz Island
Start off the day with morning dive on Santa Cruz Island for the chance to see eagle rays, manta rays, hammerheads, white-tipped reef sharks, Galapagos sharks, stingrays, marbled rays, tiger snake eels, moray eels, garden eels, sea stars, sea turtles, jacks, blue and gold snappers, flag cabrilla, creole fish, kind angel fish, barracuda, hieroglyphic hawkfish, frog fish, yellowtail surgeonfish, spotfin burrfish, scorpion fish, cardinal fish, nudibranch and more. After lunch you’ll hike to Los Gemelos (The Twins), two enormous collapsed lava chambers teeming with endemic flora and fauna. You’ll then visit a 600-acre private tortoise reserve, to see giant Galapagos tortoises roaming free, before visiting a lava tunnel. Meals included: B/L/D
Day 3 - Santa Cruz & Isabela Islands
After breakfast you’ll do some diving off Santa Cruz island, to spot eagle rays, manta rays hammerheads, white-tipped reef sharks and much more. In the afternoon you’ll sail to Isabela Island where you’ll check into the Red Mangrove Isabela Lodge and enjoy a delicious welcome cocktail before dinner. Meals included: B/L/D
Day 4 - Isabela Island
Morning diving excursion to Isla Tortuga for two dives giving you the chance to see sea horses, mantas, stingrays, sea turtles and many more incredible underwater fauna. You might even get to see sunfish and orcas. After lunch you’ll visit Las Tintoreras and take a Bay tour, giving you the opportunity to spot blue-footed boobies and Galapagos penguins. Here you’ll take a walk through a jagged lava field where you’ll see colonies of nesting marine iguanas and sea lions, while passing by waters full of white-tipped reef sharks. The views are incredible: with the black lava fields contrasting with the emerald green sea, green mangroves and cloud-capped peaks of Isabela’s volcanoes. You’ll then so some snorkeling in the bay before returning for dinner at the lodge. Meals included: B/L/D
Day 5 - Isabela & Santa Cruz Islands
Morning visit to Galapagos National Park Isabela Breeding Station tolerant about the different species of Galapagos tortoise. You’ll then take a short hike along the Isabela wetlands to see flamingos and other seabirds, before heading to Playa del Amor (Love Beach), a romantic sandy beach surrounded by mangroves. After lunch you’ll sail back to Santa Cruz Island for a free afternoon or a bike ride to explore Puerto Ayora, before having dinner back at the lodge. Meals included: B/L/D
Day 6 - Santa Cruz Island
Morning dive off Santa Cruz island to spot a vast range of unique underwater flora and fauna: from stingrays, tiger snake eels, flag cabrilla, barracuda and cardinalfish, to Galapagos sharks, sea turtles and more. In the afternoon you’ll take a tour of the famous Charles Darwin Research Station to learn all about the archipelago. Dinner at Aventura Lodge. Meals included: B/L/D
Day 7 - Santa Cruz Island
Start the day with a morning excision to Itabaca Channel to have a basic course on sea kayaking before kayaking along the northern shore of Santa Cruz Island exploring the channel that separates it from Baltra Island. This area is home to all sorts of sea birds. You can also snorkel from the kayak with sea lions, green sea turtles and schools of tropical fish. After lunch you’ll have a free afternoon to explore Puerto Ayora and do some shopping, or simply relax back at the lodge before dinner. Meals included: B/L/D
Day 8 - Departure
Early departure after breakfast to airport for flight to mainland. Meals included: B/-/-
