Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival - Santa Cruz Island
Pick-up at Baltra Airport and transfer to Galapagos Safari Camp on Santa Cruz Island. Guide will entertain your kids as you settle in, teaching them about the animals they are about to encounter. After lunch you’ll explore the 135 acre farm, pick tropical fruit, harvest cacao and do some bird watching. You can then visit the lava tunnels and search for giant tortoises in the National Tortoise Reserve.
Day 2 - Cerro Mesa & Garrapatero Beach - Santa Cruz Island
Morning visit to organic coffee plantation to learn about responsible small-scalle farming and do some coffee picking. You’ll then drive up to Cerro Mesa, at 490m above sea level, for a short walk to a wetlands area filled with birds and bathing tortoises. After lunch at a local restaurant you’ll take a downhill bike ride to Garrapatero Beach to enjoy the contrasting landscapes of mangroves, black lava, white sand, turquoise water and flamingo lagoon. You’ll then have the option to explore the bay by sea kayak to get up close and personal with marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies and shorebirds. In the evening, parents have the chance to relax, while the kids will enjoy a private art class with a local artists.
Day 3 - Exploring an uninhabited island
On day three your family will be taken on a yacht to explore an uninhabited island (options include North Seymour, South Plazas, Santa Fe and Bartolomé, and exact location depends on your travel dates). Here you’ll enjoy the wildlife accompanied by a private guide and get to do some incredible snorkeling.
Day 4 - Fishing
A favorite with kids, on day four your family will get the chance to take part in a fishing excursion with a privately chartered boat. You’ll be accompanied by a guide who will act as a translator. Your family will be taught local fishing tricks and get the chance to hear tales from a lifetime at sea. This project is coordinated with the National Park Service with the aim to engage local fishermen in tourism activities as an alternative form of income and therefore help protect local fishing stock. You’ll then be taken to a deserted beach to snorkel. A great wildlife and cultural experience for all the family.
Day 5 - Charles Darwin Station & Tortuga Bay - Santa Cruz Island
Morning tour of Charles Darwin Research Station, where your kids will learn all about the tortoises, followed by lunch in Puerto Ayora. Parents will have some time to relax while the guide will take the kids to a local playground or on a tour of the local fish market. Afternoon of relaxation at Tortuga Bay, an incredible white and sandy beach teaming with wildlife.
Day 6 - Departure
Morning of relaxation at Galapagos Safari Camp before transferring to Baltra Airport for departure.
