This fabulous tour will give you the chance to see two of South America’s travel highlights: the incredible Galapagos Islands and the unforgettable Inca Trail that takes you to Machu Picchu. This tour is available all year except February.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Quito
Airport transfer to Quito. Depending on your arrival time you may get to spend the day exploring the old town. You also have the option to take one of a selection of day tours including a Quito city tour, Mindo cloud forest tour, Cotopaxi National Park tour, Quilotoa Crater Lake tour, Otavalo market tour or a visit to Papallacta hot springs. Evening briefing about Galapagos expedition followed by dinner at local restaurant. Meals included: -/-/-
Day 2 - Flight to Galapagos & Isabela Island
Flight from Quito to Baltra Island. Travel to Puerto Ayora and take boat to Isabela Island. Settle into hotel. Meals included: B/-/-
Day 3 - Isabela Island
Hike up to the Sierra Negra Crater to take in breathtaking views and explore the active volcano. You could even continue onto Vulcan Chico, a secondary crater, if you’re feeling energetic. Afternoon visit to Tintoreras Islet near Puerto Villamil. Home to a vast array of wildlife, the crystal clear waters are home to white-tipped reef sharks, Galapagos Penguins, marine turtles and sea lions. You’ll also get to see marine iguanas basking on a nearby beach, surrounded by mangroves. Meals included: B/L/-
Day 4 - Isabela Island
Visit to Los Tuneles, amazing formations of lava created by volcanic eruptions along the sea shore, to snorkel through the labyrinth of lava arches with sea turtles, eagle rays, sea lions, reef sharks, Galapagos penguins and more. Meals included: B/L/-
Day 5 - Santa Cruz Island
Morning transfer to Santa Cruz Island, doing some dolphin and whale spotting (July -October) on the way. Check into hotel before visiting the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn about the endemic species you’ll encounter during your visit and the conservation efforts taking place. Afternoon exploration hike through dry forest to reach Tortuga Bay, a beautiful, white, sandy beach known as the nesting site for the black turtle. Day 6 - Departure and flight to Quito
After breakfast in the Galapagos, transfer to Baltra Airport to catch flight to Quito. Meals included: B/-/-
Day 7 - Flight from Quito to Cusco (Peru)
Airport pick up in Cusco and transfer to hotel. Spend the day relaxing and exploring Cusco with a walking tour or a city tour. Meals included: B/-/-
Day 8 - Cusco / Sacred Valley
Free day to acclimatize and explore Cusco. We also offer an optional tour of the sacred valley (for an additional fee), which is an excursion to the Urubamba Valley, visiting the colorful Indian market of Pisac, enjoying a delicious lunch in Urubamba, tour of Ollantaytambo and Chinchero market. Back in Cusco you’ll have a briefing in preparation for the Inca trail tour. Meals included: B/-/-
Day 9 - Set off on Inca Trail
Set off to kilometer 82 to start hiking the Inca Trail. You’ll cover 12km within about 5 hours, along a relatively easy terrain, taking in the views of the surrounding mountains and visiting Inca sites on the way. At night you’ll camp at Ayapata. Meals included: B/L/D
Day 10 - Inca Trail
On day two of your Inca Trail adventure, you’ll cover 16km within about 8 hours. It is a tougher hike on the second day as you head up towards the highest pass at 4200m before heading down to Pacaymayu for lunch. You’ll then hike another steep climb to the Runkuraqay pass to reach the campsite. Meals included: B/L/D
Day 11 - Inca Trail
On day three of your Inca Trail adventure, you’ll cover 10km within about 5 hours. Start the day with a gentle climb to the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca to reach the third highest point on the trail (3680m). The views of the surrounding area are incredible. You’ll then continue walking through cloud forest to arrive at third campsite called Wiñay Wayna, which is located near to an Inca ruin of the same name. Meals included: B/L/D
Day 12 - Machu Picchu
On day four you’ll cover a much shorter distance, 5km in about 2 hours. You’ll leave the campsite early to get to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) before sunrise where you’ll have your first dramatic view of Machu Picchu. You’ll then hike down the last of the trail before reaching Machu Picchu itself. Here you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the site, before heading down to Aguas Calientes for lunch and taking the train back to Cusco. Meals included: B/-/-
Day 13 - Cusco - Departure
