This luxury Amazon cruise, launched in July 2013, enables visitors to explore the rainforest and interact with local indigenous communities while enjoying the comfort of 5-star boutique accommodation that travels through the heart of the Ecuadorian rainforest.
 
River and lagoon explorations, swimming, rainforest hikes, canoeing, visits to local communities, night walks, birdwatching, informative talks and more. This 8-day amazon cruise leaves from Coca on Sundays and offers the chance to visit a parrot clay lick (an ideal destination for bird lovers), observe the Morete palm forests, swim in Piranha Lake and even catch a glimpse of caymans, herons, turtles, pink river dolphins, squirrel monkeys and more than 400 bird species.
 
The boat itself can accommodate up to 40 guests in its 18 cabins each with panoramic wall-to-wall windows, air-conditioning, private bathrooms with hot water and comfortable beds. The communal spaces include an outdoor jacuzzi, al fresco lounge, dining room, bar, observation deck, boutique while the 25-person crew includes concierge, paramedic, nature guides and local guides.
 
The kitchen serves national and international fusion cuisine using fresh local products. Don’t be surprised to see original combinations such as quinoa risotto or fish in coconut sauce.

Sample itinerary

Day 1 (Sunday) - Quito - Coca - Arrival
30-minute flight from Quito to Coca. Canoe trip to luxury cruise boat. Easy walk in the rainforest, dinner on board and nocturnal walk. Meals: -/-/D
Day 2 (Monday) - Pañacocha biological corridor
Explore the mouth of the Pañayacu (Piranah River) by canoe, refreshing swim in Piranha Lake, Amazon-style BBQ and an exploration walk. Meals: B/L/D
Day 3 (Tuesday) - Parrot clay lick & Sani Warmi (Yasuní National Park)
Excursion to a parrot clay lick followed by visit to Sani Warmi Kichwa Interpretation Center to learn of Kichwa customs, food and life. After lunch visit to Yakukawsay Interpretation Center and evening forest walk. Meals: B/L/D
Day 4 (Wednesday) - Indillama kayaking or Napo River canoeing (Yasuní National Park)
Choice of either kayaking on the Indillama River, one of the Napo River’s effluents, or a canoe ride on the Napo River. Meals: B/L/D
Day 5 (Thursday) - Border with Peru (Yasuní National Park)
Daylight tropical rainforest experience to learn about the relationship between plants and animals in the heart of Yasuní National Park. After lunch canoe excursion to spot pink river dolphins, black caimans and anaconda, as well as river turtles and monkeys. Meals: B/L/D
Day 6 (Friday) - Community visit & island exploration
Morning visit to local school on banks of Napo River. On board lecture and documentary while cruising downstream. Afternoon exploration of one of the largest river islands on the Napo River. Meals: B/L/D
Day 7 (Saturday) - Observation tower & Limoncocha Biological Reserve
VIsit 100-foot high observation tower to get a birds eye view of the rainforest. Afternoon visit to Limoncocha Biological Reserve, a protected area home of 478 bird species and several monkey species. Evening black caiman spotting. Meals: B/L/D
Day 8 (Sunday) - Departure
Amazon luxury cruise heads back upstream. Canoe ride upstream to Coca to catch afternoon flight back to Quito. Meals: B/-/-
